About me

I'm the person behind Tabiji – Andre Kapp.

Japan has been part of my life since childhood. I help others prepare their Japan trip clearly and calmly – with honest assessments, without hype, and with the aim of providing realistic, personal support.

Background

What led me to Tabiji.

Passion, not chance

Japan has been part of my life since childhood and is still a firm part of my personal interests today. I engage with the country continuously – through my own experiences there, but also through books, podcasts, blogs, vlogs and many different perspectives.

Travel guides long before Tabiji

Even before Tabiji existed, I created individual Japan travel guides for friends, family, acquaintances and colleagues. It makes me happy to help people plan their trip more clearly, calmly and in a way that suits them.

Software developer in the travel industry

Professionally, I work as a software developer in the travel industry. This combination of personal interest, structured thinking and high standards for planning shapes Tabiji today – and was also what prompted me to develop my own Japan travel app.

My approach

Honest, personal, thoughtful.

I wouldn't call myself a Japan expert. Rather, I'm constantly learning – and it's exactly with this attitude that I want to support others in planning their trips.

  • Honest rather than exhaustive Realistic assessments rather than claiming to have the perfect answer to everything
  • Level-headed, not sensational I deliberately distance myself from scaremongering and exaggerated hype, which often distort the picture of Japan.
  • Personal, not generic No standard routes. I adapt the planning to you, your situation and your interests.
  • Always learning, never set in my ways Japan is changing – and so is my view of it. This continuous learning flows directly into my work.
